There are still few resources available to practitioners in the region to help preserve and protect Caribbean heritage.This conference will help to bridge that gap and put a wide cross-­section of professionals in contact with one another to better understand how we go about this important work.

Sydney Opera House 01Following the earlier call for the Scientific Symposium Co-Chair, which has since been appointed, expressions of interest are now invited for four (4) further volunteer positions as International Theme/Stream Co-Chairs for the Scientific Symposium to be held between 5 and 9 October 2020 as part of the 20th Triennial General Assembly of ICOMOS (GA2020) in Sydney, Australia under the overall theme “Shared cultures – Shared heritage – Shared responsibility”.

Call for proposals: ICCROM-ICOMOS Project “Analysis of Case Studies in Recovery and Reconstruction”

After review of the proposals, a selection will be made by a Working Group for the development of selected case studies. The selected authors will receive an honorarium in recognition of their work.

Please save the 4th and 5th November 2019 for our international conference on “How to measure Baukultur” in Geneva, Switzerland.

In January 2018 the European Ministers of Culture adopted the Davos Declaration calling for a high-quality Baukultur to improve the well-being of all. To understand how we can improve the built environment, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (FOC), the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the International Union of Architects (UIA), and the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) will hold a conference on “How to measure Baukultur”.
