ICOMOS endorses the Florence Declaration on Landscape 2012

On the recommendation of the ICOMOS IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes, the ICOMOS Advisory Committee, at its meeting in Beijing on 1 November 2012, formally endorsed the Final Declaration of the UNESCO International Meeting on "The International Protection of Landscapes" held in Florence on 19-21 September 2012 on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention.

This project was launched in 2008 by the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) on the initiative of the City of Lyon, in partnership with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre (within the framework of the France-UNESCO Convention and extrabudgetary funds from the Netherlands), the Council of Europe, the Getty Conservation Institute and ICOMOS, represented by its International Committee on Historic Cities and Villages (CIVVIH).
