ICOMOS, ICA, IFLA and ICOM statement on the situation of cultural heritage in the Nagorno Karabakh region
ICOMOS, ICA, IFLA and ICOM have issued a Statement on November 20 regarding the situation of cultural heritage in the Nagorno Karabakh region, following the ceasefire agreement that was implemented in the Nagorno-Karabakh region on November 10, to call all parties involved to proactively ensure full respect and protection of all the cultural heritage in the concerned areas.
ICOMOS participates in the first meeting for the ministers of culture at the G20 Summit
Toshiyuki Kono, President of ICOMOS, participated at the virtual “Joint meeting for the ministers of culture” held by the Saudi Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the G20 Summit hosted this year by Saudi Arabia on November 4.
ICOMOS and COVID-19: Heritage as a cornerstone of human, social and economic recovery
Among the mass of information circulating concerning COVID-19, one hopeful message issued by credible medical publications is that an effective vaccine could probably be developed within the next 18 months. This would be the shortest development period for a vaccine in human history. Nevertheless, 18 months is still a very long way to go - a marathon race with the zero-infections stage as its finish line. To make this race sustainable, some countries are already relaxing the restrictions they have imposed and gradually allowing economic activities to resume, while others will have to maintain or introduce strict measures.
