Excursion in Namur to visit the restoration site of the Stade des Jeux (Georges Hobé, 1908–1910) and explore the reconstruction site of the Casino ticket office (Georges Hobé, 1914), in collaboration with the Union des Artisans du Patrimoine. Registration required before 13 April (6pm).

ICOMOS Canada, in partnership with the Héritage Montréal Foundation, is holding an online roundtable around the theme “Shorelines, Heritage and Flood Risk”. Please note that this event will be in French.

“Ciniao Initiative for Safeguarding Cultural Heritage”, organised by Beijing Ciniao Culture Media Co., Ltd., Ciniao Cultural Tourism Volunteer Team and Ciniao Youth Cultural Heritage Volunteer Team. This event offers field inspection, by conducting surveys on the current conditions of cultural heritage sites including the Lugou Bridge, Site of the Water Gate of the Middle Jin Capital, Site of the City Wall of the Middle Jin Capital, Han Tomb of Dabaotai, Jin Mausoleum, Wanfotang Kongshui Cave and Pagoda, and Zhoukoudian Site. It also aims to promote environmental maintenance at sites and organize public outreach activities, and to encourage social participation in the safeguarding of living heritage. Please note that this event is open to Ciniao volunteers only.

ICOMOS China and the Scientific Committee of Cultural Heritage Conservation by Digitalization are organising a webinar on “Digitizing Living Heritage · Sharing Industrial Memories”. The event will feature three special sessions: Donation of industrial artifacts, Launch of an industrial heritage study tour route, and Inauguration of a practice base.

The Jinsha Site Museum is organising a themed cultural week. This year, the theme is “Carrying Forward Cultural Legacy, Safeguarding Our Site”, and will offer a rich programme, from field visits to academic seminars. The ICOMOS International Conservation Center-Xi’an, in collaboration with the Xi’an Qujiang Daming Palace Relic Area Protection and Renovation Office is holding an event called “Youth for Heritage, Resilience Together”. It will feature Silk Road heritage site visits as well as technical, creative and art sharing sessions for Chinese and foreign young students and the general public.

Workshop on Kulangsu-Jingmai Mountain: “Heritage Communities for Sustainable Living Heritage”. This event is organised by by ICOMOS China, the Scientific Committee of Cultural Heritage Management and Research, the Administrative Committee of Kulangsu-Wanshishan Scenic Area, Xiamen City, and the Protection and Administration Bureau of Old Tea Forests of the Jingmai Mountain in Pu’er.

ICOMOS Columbia is participating to IDMS by hosting a seminar, both onsite and online. It will feature ten different speakers, taking turns presenting throughout the afternoon.

ICOMOS Costa Rica is holding a photography contest, as well as an award ceremony, aimed at rewarding a person or legal entity that has contributed significantly to the cultural heritage of Costa Rica.

ICOMOS Estonia, in cooperation with the Estonian Heritage Board and several other partners, is organising a military heritage seminar. The day will begin with a bus expedition to military sites in Tallinn and Harju County (from 8:30 AM to 3 PM). In the second half of the day, the seminar will take place in Triigi Manor. It is also possible to participate in the seminar separately. Pre-registration is required.

ICOMOS Georgia is hosting the exhibition “Traditions of the Great Liakhvi Valley- Village of Kekhvi”, which showcases the intangible cultural heritage of the occupied territories. This travelling exhibition is the result of cooperation between the Georgian National Committee of the Blue Shield and the Center for the Protection of Historical-Cultural Heritage and aims to present the results of the ethnographic research of the intangible cultural heritage of the occupied Tskhinvali region, in particular, the village of Kekhvi in the Didi Liakhvi Valley.  The event will be accompanied by a screening of videos prepared as part of the work with the displaced community.

In collaboration with ICOMOS EPWG, ICOMOS Ireland is organising a walking tour of some of Dublin’s most important heritage sites. The tour will begin at the Custom House, lacing through the city and ending on Church Street.

ICOMOS Malaysia is offering a study tour & international workshop exploring one of Malaysia’s most remarkable heritage landscapes: the Niah National Park’s Caves Complex. Limited slots are available; registration is required.

To celebrate IDMS, ICOMOS Seychelles is launching a project to renovate and protect a historic seawall in the capital of Seychelles, Victoria. Once a prominent feature of the town along its waterfront the seawall has remained as one of the vestiges of the history of the town.

ICOMOS Sudan is offering a specialized workshop on safeguarding living heritage in situations of conflict and natural disasters. It will be held at the Sofitel Cairo Nile, but participants can also follow the workshop online. Confirmation of attendance is needed, ideally before 14 April.

With the support of ICORP, CAWG and Preserving Legacies, the Chinese Association on Preservation of Cultural Heritage and the Taiwan Heritage Society jointly hold a webinar. In this online meeting, the new
Emergency Response charter will be introduced, and relevant strategies and a case study of addressing climate change will be tackled. Every person interested in cultural heritage is welcome to participate.

ISCCL is offering an online workshop titled “Living Heritage and Emergency Response: Issues in Cultural Landscapes”. This Workshop starts off the year-long series with an overview of emergency response issues for cultural landscapes, and will continue until November.

The International Scientific Committee on Stone is holding a technical webinar titled “Digital Forensics for Living Heritage: Emergency Response and Rapid Stabilization of Stone Structures”. This session will explore the integration of high-fidelity digital twins and geomorphological decay analysis into emergency safety protocols. By bridging the expertise of ISCS, ICORP, and CIPA, discussions will deal with how digital forensics can guide the rapid stabilization of stone monuments in the immediate aftermath of disasters, as framed by the new ICOMOS Charter on Preparedness.

MSc Conservation at The University of Hong Kong is organising a specialized seminar and panel discussion commemorating this year’s IDMS.

For the 25th anniversary Celebrations of Saltaire being a UNESCO Work Heritage Site, this year’s festival will be offering a plethora of activities, from museum visits to live music.

Galway Community Archaeology Project celebrates IDMS and the cities of Clonfert, Kilmeen and Kilboght, by offering a tour through story-maps, film and podcasts. This tour includes a visit to Clonfert.

Researchers and experts will discuss the main risks and vulnerabilities affecting cultural heritage at the seminar “Living and Resilient Heritage: Risks and Vulnerabilities”. The focus will be on the impacts of climate change and the increasing pressure of tourism on historical centers.

Cinco visiones del Patrimonio Cultural

15 April, from 5 PM to 8:30 PM (CET).

The celebration of this Seminar at the RSEAPGC (Royal Society of Friends of the Country of Gran Canaria) commemorates the institution’s 250th anniversary.

Through five twenty-minute presentations, different lines of research will be presented, ranging from paleographic analysis to underwater archaeology, pre-Columbian rock art in Peru, archaeological heritage management, and educational innovation. The Seminar will conclude with a round table discussion to facilitate the exchange of ideas among researchers, heritage managers, and the public.

Tarazona Monumental

The government of Aragon, in collaboration with Tarazona Monumental Foundation, is offering a day’s worth of activites, culmninating in a practical workshop with the Tarazona Lace Makers Association. As a complement to the activity, a guided tour of Tarazona will be offered in the afternoon to explore its legends, the origin of some street names, and other aspects related to the intangible cultural heritage of the city.
