The ICOMOS Sustainable Development Goals Working Group, which focuses on the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 and defines the role of heritage as a driver and enabler of sustainable development, is inviting you to engage with various activities of the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) from 6-15 July 2021.

The UN HLPF is a central platform for reviewing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals. It implies the participation of all States Members of the United Nations and States members of specialised agencies.

For the last several years, ICOMOS has participated in this annual event. This year, plenary sessions, thematic sessions and side events will be held online. ICOMOS contributes to policy statements as highlighted in the NGO Major Group Position Paper. The SDGs Working Group will participate in these proceedings and are inviting those interested to join.

ICOMOS will be participating in a side event named “Partnering through Culture, Heritage and Art for Resilience and Inclusive Recovery” where Pamela Jerome, ICOMOS Treasurer General will be speaking on behalf of ICOMOS. The Climate Heritage Network, for which ICOMOS acts as Secretariat, will be represented by Andrew Potts.
