Save the date: next ICOMOS statutory meetings in Morocco

ICOMOS MarocThis year, the ICOMOS Advisory Committee meetings, Scientific Symposium and Annual General Assembly will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 14 to 18 October 2019, on the generous invitation of ICOMOS Morocco.



Consult the site http://icomosmaroc.org/ for all practical information – registration, hotels, etc. (the site is only available in English at the moment, a French version will be available soon). Registration will be open until 15 August 2019 (early registration discounted fee until 31 July).

Before registering, please consult in particular the page "Information for Delegates". After registering,  please carefully read the information provided by ICOMOS Morocco and the Secretariat and keep an eye on the updates on the website.

Meetings of the Advisory Council (Scientific Council, National Committees and Advisory Council) will take place from 14 to 16 October - agendas and working documents will be published in due course.

The Preliminary Agenda for the Scientific Symposium will be made available in July. This year, the theme is "Rural heritage: Landscapes and beyond" - you will find more information on the Symposium website. The Symposium will take place on 17 October.

Annual General Assembly

The agenda of the Annual General Assembly, on 16 October (16:30 - 18:30) will focus on receiving the reports of the ICOMOS President and Treasurer on the management by the Board and the health and financial situation of the association; approving the annual report and accounts and discharging the Board, as well as voting next year’s budget.

All other matters such as adoption of doctrinal texts, elections of the Board and officers, conferring of Honorary membership, voting the ICOMOS General Programme and budgetary guidelines for the next triennium, as well as proposing resolutions for adoption by ICOMOS will be dealt with by the next triennial General Assembly (2020, Sydney, Australia).

All members shall have the right to attend the General Assembly and may be designated to be a voting member at the General Assembly within the conditions set out in Articles 9-a and 13-d-4 of the Statutes. Please note that additional Committee observers and voting members (beyond the Committee Presidents or their designated representative) are asked to contribute a registration fee.

Working documents

The Preliminary Agenda for the Annual General Assembly is now available in English and in French.

The working document for item 6-2 (Resolution to amend Articles 3-4 and 66-5 of the Rules of Procedure) is available in English and French.

The other working documents of the Annual General Assembly (e.g. financial report) will be posted on the website here and circulated via the ICOMOS e-News four weeks before the start of the Annual General Assembly.


Remote participation at the meetings

The Annual General Assembly and Advisory Committee meetings will be made available as video recordings or via streaming to ICOMOS members via the ICOMOS website. More information will be posted closer to the meeting date.
