(Re)Watch the Webinar | Climate Change and Cultural Heritage: a call to action!
ICOMOS, the International Council on Archives (ICA) and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) joined forces to call for action regarding the preservation of collections in response to threats from climate change. The recording of the webinar held on 12 June 2020 is now available on the ICA YouTube channel.
The webinar addressed questions such as "What do I know about the effects of climate change related disasters on my collection?"; "What disaster recovery plans might be useful for my collection?" or "How can archives fit in to global climate action? How can I and my collections make a difference? How do we begin to adress our impact?"
Experts from ICOMOS, ICA and IFLA discussed these subjects on 12 June 2020, from 14:30 to 15:30 (CET) and fueled the debate thanks to their specific knowledge in their respective area of expertise.
- Andrew Potts: Coordinator Climate Heritage Network Secretariat and Chair of the Climate change working group, ICOMOS;
- Stephen Wyber: IFLA Policy and Advocacy Manager;
- Emilie Gagnet Leumas: Chair of the ICA Expert Group on Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness;
- Anthea Seles (Chair of the panel): ICA Secretary General
The webinar is part of the International Archives Week organised by ICA. The program for the whole week can be accessed on the ICA webpage and on their social networks through the hashtag #IAW2020.
