A long-awaited international scientific conference devoted to exploring the importance of cultural knowledge and heritage in understanding and responding to the climate change challenge concluded on Friday 10 December. 

Towards the adoption of a connected approach to considering nature and culture, the Commentary on Nature-Culture Keywords reflects a dialogue between disciplines within the heritage field, and intends to develop a basis for common understanding of relevant terms among cultural and natural heritage professionals.

ICOMOS President Teresa Patrício travelled to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo to prepare a capacity-building workshop on the elaboration of a general inventory of the country's cultural heritage. This training will be carried out by ICOMOS, thanks to the support of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIPH) and in collaboration with the National Advisory Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (CCN) of the DRC.

The European Cultural Heritage Green Paper “Putting Europe’s shared heritage at the heart of the European Green Deal”, which focuses on the role of cultural heritage in achieving the ambitions of the European Green Deal, is now available in French and Spanish.

The European Cultural Heritage Skills Alliance CHARTER launched its Community programme for external stakeholders interested in connecting and engaging with the Erasmus+ project.

ICOMOS International in collaboration with EKA’s Cultural Heritage & Conservation Department conducted a week-long Global inter-university summer-school on Heritage Alert and Advocacy from 9 to 13 August 2021.
