Scientific Symposium "Heritage, Driver of Development" - Proceedings online!

The digital publication of the proceedings of the Scientific Symposium held on the occasion of the 17th ICOMOS General Assembly on the theme "Heritage, Driver of Development" is now available online.The Scientific Symposium, held from 28 November to 1 December 2011 under the aegis of the host National  Committee, ICOMOS France, gathered nearly 1200 participants from 106 countries, with over 150 papers being presented.

Contents

The proceedings are structured along the four sub-themes of the Symposium: Heritage and Regional Development; Development and the return to the art of building; Tourism and Development; the Economics of Development. In the chapter “Workshop-Debates” you will find further transversal presentations grouped according to different themes linked to the issue of development.In addition to the presentations, you will find the Key-note speeches, as well as the introductions by the Chairpersons of each theme, as well as the reports produced during the Symposium. A photo gallery and the biographies of speakers are also included.

The publication is available for free download as a whole or in parts, through the ICOMOS International and  ICOMOS France web sites.

Bilingual print publication

Furthermore, a fully bilingual print publication, based on the reflections of the Symposium will be published this October.
