Towards the adoption of a connected approach to considering nature and culture, the Commentary on Nature-Culture Keywords reflects a dialogue between disciplines within the heritage field, and intends to develop a basis for common understanding of relevant terms among cultural and natural heritage professionals.
In December 2021, the ICOMOS Secretariat together with the ICCROM-IUCN World Heritage Leadership programme will hold a write-shop (writing workshop) dedicated to ICOMOS members for the preparation of case studies, in this context “solutions”, to be submitted for inclusion on the PANORAMA Nature-Culture Thematic Community.
In recent years, the work of ICOMOS has increasingly focused on the growing evidence that natural and cultural heritage are closely interconnected in most landscapes and seascapes, and that effective and lasting management and conservation of such heritage places depends on better integration of philosophies and procedures regarding their identification and management.
