ICOMOS at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development

HLPF Logo EThe ICOMOS Sustainable Development Goals Working Group who looks at the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 and establishing the link of heritage as a driver and enabler of sustainable development is inviting you to listen in and participate in various activities of the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF).

The UN HLPF is the central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, and provides for the participation of all States Members of the United Nations and States members of specialized agencies.

For the last several years, ICOMOS has participated in this annual event in July and for 2021, plenary sessions, thematic sessions and side events will happen online. For this process, ICOMOS also contributes to policy statements such as highlighted in the NGO Major Group Position Paper. The Political Forum will take place from 6-15 July 2021. The SDGs Working Group will observe in these proceedings and do hope that you also do the same.

ICOMOS will be participating in a side event entitled, "Partnering through Culture, Heritage and Art for Resilience and Inclusive Recovery", where Pamela Jerome, ICOMOS Treasurer General will be speaking on behalf of ICOMOS. The Climate Heritage Network, for which ICOMOS acts as Secretariat, will be represented by Andrew Potts.
