Open letter from the ICOMOS Vice-President for the Americas in support ICOMOS Peru

Following an appeal by ICOMOS Peru, the ICOMOS Vice-President for the Americas, Dr. Arq. Leonardo Castriota, addressed an open letter to the Metropolitan Mayor, Dr. Jorge Muñoz Wells, concerning the demolition of the perimeter fence of the San Francisco de Lima Monumental Complex in the Historic Centre of Lima perpetrated by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima in the early hours of 6 February 2022.

A large number of ICOMOS National Committees, ICOMOS members and cultural heritage professionals in Latin America and the Caribbean have endorsed this call.
