Result of the ICOMOS Europe Initiative of reflecting on Transnational serial nominations in Europe, ICOMOS is pleased to share the report Sharing experience on Transnational Serial Nominations in Europe, as the outcome of this fruitful reflection, thanks to the financial support of the Walloon Region (Belgium).

From 7 to 10 December 2020, the third edition of the workshop “Strengthening Capacities of World Heritage Professionals in the Arab Region for Cultural and Mixed sites” was held online. It was organized by the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage (ARC-WH) and ICOMOS in the framework of their Memorandum of Understanding.

ICOMOS is pleased to share its second discussion paper on “Sites associated with memories of Recent Conflicts and the World Heritage Convention”. Encouraged by the World Heritage Committee to further deepen its analysis and broaden the participation of experts in this new reflection, ICOMOS prepared this second discussion paper to consider the purpose and scope of the World Heritage Convention, as well as its key concepts, and how sites assorted with memories of recent conflicts relate to these.

As follow up to the Interim Report prepared in January 2020, I am pleased to present the final report on the Process of seeking Expressions of Interest for ICOMOS World Heritage Advisers.

First, I would like to share some general statistics as regards the applications received in response to the call for expression of interest a total of 353 applications were submitted by the deadline.
