Au long de son histoire, l'ICOMOS a conduit une action normative et activement participé à la rédaction de conventions internationales.


ICICH - Comité international sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel

Les objectifs de ICICH, liés à ceux de l’ICOMOS, sont :

- Promouvoir la coopération internationale dans l'identification, l'étude et la solution de questions liées à l'identification éthique, la protection, l'interprétation et la gestion des associations culturelles immatérielles attribuées aux monuments et des sites.

- Coopérer avec les Comités Scientifiques Internationaux de l’ICOMOS dans l'examen de documents doctrinaux aussi bien que dans la gestion et des pratiques de conservation, dans la lumière du rôle des attributs immatériels dans la signification et les valeurs de sites du patrimoine culturel.

- Conseiller l’ICOMOS sur le rôle qu'il peut avoir dans la mise en oeuvre, ou d'autres activités associées, de la Convention Internationale de l'UNESCO sur le Patrimoine Culturel Immatériel - Conseiller l’ICOMOS sur rôle d'attributs immatériels dans le rôle qu’il joue dans la mise en oeuvre d'autres Conventions de l’UNESCO et des traités internationaux, comme la Convention du Patrimoine mondial et la Convention de la Haye. ICICH effectue ses activités dans le cadre d'un programme triennal avec, parmi d'autre, des conférences, des ateliers et d'autres moyens pour des échanges interpersonnels directs, des visites d'étude, des publications, des services de conseils spécialisés à l’ICOMOS et à d'autres.

Throughout its history, ICOMOS has been involved in a standard setting action, and actively participated in the redaction of several international Conventions.



ICICH - International Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage

The objectives of ICICH are, consistent with the aims of ICOMOS to:

- promote international cooperation in the identification, study and solution of issues related to the ethical identification, protection, interpretation, and management of the intangible cultural associations attributed to monuments and sites.

- co-operate with the International Scientific Committees of ICOMOS in reviewing doctrinal documents as well as management and conservation practices, in light of the role of intangible attributes in the significance and values of cultural heritage sites.

- advise ICOMOS on any role it may have in the implementation of, or other activities associated with UNESCO’s International Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage

- To advise ICOMOS on the role of intangible attributes in the role it plays in implementation of other UNESCO Conventions and international treaties, such as the World Heritage Convention and The Hague Convention.

ICICH carries out its activities within the framework of a triennial programme through, among other, conferences, workshops and other means for direct inter-personal exchanges, study visits, publications, specialist advisory services to ICOMOS and others.
