Invitation to make a donation to ICOMOS' Funds

Dear ICOMOS members and friends,

As we start a new year, we invite you to consider making a donation to one of ICOMOS' Funds, in support of training for young heritage professionals and ensuring a broader participation of members at the forthcoming 19th General Assembly (Delhi, India).

The official dates of the General Assembly are from 11-15 December 2017 (GA and Scientific Symposium) with Pre-Meetings held 8-10 December and Post-Meetings and Events from 16-17 December. We apologize if the rescheduling caused you any inconvenience; the dates had to be changed due to conflicts with other major events by international organizations. Whilst we are aware that the event is now later in the year than usual, we nevertheless hope to see many of you in Delhi – our colleagues of ICOMOS India are working hard at putting together an exciting programme around the theme “Heritage and Democracy”. The call for papers and conference website will be launched in early February.

The Raymond Lemaire Fund

Created in 1999, the Raymond Lemaire Fund for Next Generation Skills aims at raising funds for the training of young heritage professionals. Read more

In July 2015, the Fund awarded its first scholarships ranging from 500 € to 1500 € to 8 laureates across all world regions. Due to the high quality and number of applications received, the Selection Committee faced a very difficult choice among so many worthy and inspiring candidates. So that ICOMOS can continue this programme next year and, ideally, award a greater number of scholarships, the Raymond Lemaire Fund needs your support. Each donation counts! Regardless of its amount, it will have a decisive impact on the training and future development of a young colleague. This capacity building is vital both to ensure the dissemination of best practice throughout the regions, but also to promoting the generational renewal of heritage professionals, so necessary for meeting the challenges of tomorrow.

The ICOMOS Victoria Falls Fund

Established in 2003, the Victoria Falls/Mosi-oa-Tunya Solidarity Fund allows ICOMOS to support the attendance of colleagues facing financial difficulties at our events, in particular General Assemblies.

For the 19th General Assembly in Delhi this year, our focus will be to ensure that a maximum number of Committees will include young professional members in their delegations. Read more
