ICOMOS GA2020 Scientific Symposium: Indigenous Heritage Theme - Call for Working Group members

GA2020The GA2020 Scientific Symposium “Shared Cultures – Shared Heritage – Shared Responsibility” will comprise six themes, of which one is: ”INDIGENOUS HERITAGE: sharing, exchange, and control”. The Co-chairs for this theme are Dr Chris Wilson (Ngarrindjeri/Kaurna, Nunga; ICOMOS Australia) and Dr Diane Menzies (Ngāti Kahungunu, Māori; ICOMOS New Zealand).

 

A Working Group for this theme is being established whose roles will include: assisting the Co-chairs develop a programme of sessions and activities; undertake reviews of session and abstract submissions (January-April 2020); and support the post-GA2020 publication of papers. 

This call is for Indigenous people with an interest in the theme, and with an intention to attend the GA2020, to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to become a member of the Indigenous Heritage Theme Working Group. Interested ICOMOS members should provide a short (up to 200-word) statement about their interest and commitment to the role, as well as a CV. The EOI should be emailed to Chris Wilson (christopher.wilson[at]flinders.edu.au) and Diane Menzies (drdhmenzies[at]ark.co.nz) by 30 September 2019. The ICOMOS 20th General Assembly and Scientific Symposium (GA2020) will take place in Sydney, Australia, from 1-10 October 2020. Information on this event is available, and continues to be added to the GA2020 website
