New publication gathering Arabic translations of major cultural heritage conservation charters

International Cultural Heritage Charters Arabic ICOMOS and ICCROM, through its Regional Office in Sharjah (ICCROM-Sharjah, U.A.E.) have officially released a new publication gathering Arabic translations of international charters and declarations related to preserving and restoring cultural heritage. The book, titled International Charters for the Conservation and Restoration of Monuments and Historical Sites, is an essential text for practitioners, researchers and legislators who seek a comprehensive overview of heritage conservation texts at the international level.

The Preserving Legacies Project: Year One Review and Call for New Partners/Sites

At the end of every year, governments from around the world meet at the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (or COP) to agree targets and work together for climate action. In Memoriam - Jukka Jokilehto (1938-2023)

ICOMOS is sad to hear about the passing of Finnish Architect and Urban Planner Jukka Jokilehto. Jokilehto was awarded the ICCROM Award in 2000 as well as the Honorary Membership of ICOMOS in 2014 for his outstanding work in the protection of international cultural heritage. Jukka Jokilehto greatly contributed to the shaping of the conservation field over the span of his career – his works on the history and politics of conservation, as well as conservation theory are an invaluable testimony to his considerable knowledge and expertise in the heritage field.

Capacity Building in Heritage Impact Assessment in Mauritius - Overview and Principles of World Heritage
