For those wishing to spend time in New Orleans before or after the Symposium, Tulane University is organizing bus transport, a plantation tour along the way, and lunch on the northbound trek. The bus will leave New Orleans for Natchitoches on the morning of Wednesday the 24th and will return on Saturday (the 27th) to arrive in New Orleans about 8pm.

This 18th-century National Historic
Landmarks, still inhabited
by descendants of the family that built it, is considered to be
one of the finest examples of French Colonial/West Indian
architecture in the United States. Our gracious hostess,
"Miss Lucy" Parlange, will personally conduct the tour,
along with Dr. Eugene Cizek of the Tulane University
School of Architecture
A favorite among locals, the Joe Dreyfus
Country Store is located
in the village of Livonia. The owner, Diane Major, has put together
a sumptious menu of regional cuisine:
