US/ICOMOS Interns and Covered Bridges

HABS/HAER Documentation of
Historic Covered Bridges in
Vermont, Ohio, and Oregon, USA

2003 US/ICOMOS International Interns

Seven US/ICOMOS International interns joined the HABS/HAER Summer Documentation team to work on historic bridges.  Most of the fieldwork involved covered bridges in scenic Vermont, but others were located in Ohio, Indiana, and Oregon.  The teams made measured drawings that were subsequently transferred to the computer to produce AutoCad-generated records for submission to the permanent archives in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.

One of the highlights of the 2003 project was the first-ever National Historic Covered Bridge Conference held at the University of Vermont in Burlington (see photo at right).

Many of the US/ICOMOS interns counted this among the highlights of their summer.  Follow the links below to learn more about each individual US/ICOMOS intern.
