Resolutions

  1. ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th
  2. International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 wants to express its deep appreciation of the extraordinary generosity and efficiency of the Japanese National Committee of ICOMOS in the practical organization of the Symposium.

    The Symposium provided the members of IIWC with a deeper insight into and appreciation of the approaches to and problems of the conservation of timber structures in Japan and the realization of the common threads in our joint experiences.

  3. ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th
  4. International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 supports the continued efforts of UNESCO and ICOMOS towards the preservation of the integrity of Kizhi Pogost World Heritage Site in Karelia autonomous republic, Russian Federation.

    IIWC supports the recommendations of the ICOMOS mission of July and August 1993.

  5. Following the resolution passed at its 8th International Symposium
  6. and Meeting in Nepal in 1992, ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 supports the continued efforts of UNESCO and ICOMOS towards the preservation of the integrity of the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage Site. IIWC further supports the recommendations of the joint UNESCO / ICOMOS Review Mission of November 1993.

  7. ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th
  8. International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 recognizes the strong efforts made by the Himeji city authorities to integrate concern for the importance of maintaining the integrity of the residential quarters in the Buffer Zone surrounding the Himeji Castle World Heritage Site within management approaches to the site, and recommends further consideration of these valuable quarters in all planning activity related to the site and its surroundings.

  9. ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th
  10. International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 commends the existing work of the authorities of Japan in compiling inventories of the traditional timber houses and buildings as an integral part of the historic fabric of the country's built environment, and welcomes an extension of this work with a view to the future preservation of these heritage resources.

  11. ICOMOS International Wood Committee (IIWC) gathered at its 9th
  12. International Symposium and Meeting in Japan in 1994 wishes to express its appreciation to the Committee's President and Secretary General for their hard work in organizing the 9th Symposium and the Committee's other business since the last Committee meeting in 1992.
