Helaine Silverman
| Helaine Silverman is Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois and the Director of CHAMP/Collaborative for Cultural Heritage Management and Policy, which is an internationally acclaimed heritage research center.
She is an archaeologist specialized in the Central Andes, and an anthropologist with current cultural heritage field projects in Peru and Thailand. She is a member of Forum-UNESCO, an expert member of ICOMOS/ICAHM, and an associate member of ICOMOS/ICTC. Helaine is the managing editor of ICAHM's publication series, "Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Archaeological Heritage Management" (published by Springer Press) as well as of the series "Heritage, Tourism and Community" (published by Left Coast Press). In addition to her own authored books and journal articles, she is the editor of Archaeological Site Museums in Latin America (University Press of Florida, 2006), Cultural Heritage and Human Rights (Springer, 2007), Intangible Heritage Embodied (Springer, 2009), and Contested Cultural Heritage (Springer, 2011). Among other journals she serves on the editorial board of International Journal of Heritage Studies.
