Tim Williams is Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, where he coordinates masters programs in MA Managing Archaeological Sites, MA Urban Archaeology, and various undergraduate courses. He is Director of the Ancient Merv Project (www.ucl.ac.uk/merv) in Turkmenistan and academic advisor on the UNESCO Silk Roads thematic project. Dr. William serves as Editor-in-chief of the international peer-reviewed journal Conservation & Management of Archaeological Sites and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London. His research interests include urbanism, recording and analysis of complex stratigraphy, management of archaeological sites and cultural landscapes, and the conservation of earthen archaeology. He has extensive field experience in Roman, Levantine, Islamic and Central Asian archaeology and site management.
