Alerte patrimoine: Bulgarie - reconstructions à grande échelle sur des sites archéologiques

L'ICOMOS a envoyé une lettre aux autorités nationales bulgares pour les alerter sur l'impact destructeur de reconstructions à grande échelle, toujours en cours, sur des sites archéologiques existants dans le pays. Il a également offert son soutien d'expert dans l'organisation du processus de préservation de ce patrimoine.

Plutôt que de valoriser les monuments concernés, le remplacement à grande échelle de matériaux et de formes originales manquantes est en train de détruire leur esprit authentique. En substituant des structures originales, ces nouvelles constructions falsifient l'histoire et provoquent une perte irréversible d'authenticité. En outre, ils peuvent rendre impossible toute recherche scientifique future.
