
ICOMOS’ Europe Group covers the culturally, linguistically and geographically diverse continent of Europe and its similarly varied cultural heritage. In Europe, there are 46 ICOMOS National Committees. The Europe Group serves as an informal framework for cooperation in bilateral, multilateral, sub-regional and regional ways for these committees and their members. This includes the ICOMOS National and International Scientific Committees, who are encouraged to collaborate on a regional level.
The Europe Group is currently represented on the ICOMOS Board by Riin Alatalu (Estonia), elected as Vice President of the ICOMOS Bureau at the 2023 General Assembly.
The Europe Group holds an annual meeting with accompanying events and a scientific conference, hosted by an ICOMOS National Committee on a rotating basis. They also hold a working meeting during ICOMOS General Assemblies.
