[Deadline extension] Preserving Legacies / Call for new sites

Preserving Legacies Highlight 2023

The deadline for the call for new sites, aimed at ICOMOS National Committees and International Scientific Committees, has been extended until 30 January 2024!
An information session will be held today via ZOOM to introduce the project and present the steps necessary for submitting an application. If you cannot attend the session but are interested in watching the recording, please register for the session anyway - the recording will be sent to all who registered.

New translations in Albanian and Hebrew: ICOMOS doctrinal texts

Translations Albanian Hebrew ICOMOS Doctrinal Texts

Cultural Heritage without Borders Albania translated 27 (ICOMOS) charters, declarations, principles, resolutions and guidelines, while ICOMOS Israel undertook the translation of the ICOMOS Charter of Cultural Routes into Hebrew.

AWHF offers grants to African ICOMOS heritage professionals

AWHF grants African ICOMOS heritage professionals

The African World Heritage Fund (AWHF) generously offered grants to a selection of former Maloti Drakensberg Capacity Building workshop participants in order to cover their expenses during technical evaluation missions in Kenya, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
The AWHF also offered grants to 4 ICOMOS African experts who were able to attend the ICOMOS World Heritage Panel 2023/2024.

Enhancing our Heritage Toolkit 2.0

UNESCO and the Advisory Bodies of the World Heritage Committee have released a newly revised toolkit offering a World Heritage-specific methodology of management effectiveness assessment that can be applied to cultural, natural and mixed sites.
