Joint ICOMOS-ICCROM mission to Ukraine

Chernihiv Cinema CopyrightHERIICOMOS and ICCROM undertook a joint mission to Ukraine from 9 to 16 July 2022 in order to provide support to the efforts made by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, as well as heritage organisations and professionals in the country, in the current conflict situation.

The purpose of the mission was to assess the damage caused to cultural heritage, to identify immediate needs, and to offer technical assistance for the preparation of a systematic and coordinated national strategy for first aid interventions and recovery planning of cultural heritage.

ICOMOS and ALIPH sign Memorandum of Understanding

ALIPH ICOMOS MOU 20220131On the occasion of the 2nd ALIPH Donors’ and Partners’ Conference, ICOMOS President Teresa Patrício and ALIPH Executive Director Valéry Freland signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Louvre on 31 January 2022. This MOU is a commitment to strengthen our shared efforts for the protection of heritage, particularly in conflict and post-conflict areas.

ICOMOS President in Kinshasa to prepare capacity-building workshop

8dec21 Audience Ministre Culture 2a CopyICOMOS President Teresa Patrício travelled to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo to prepare a capacity-building workshop on the elaboration of a general inventory of the country's cultural heritage. This training will be carried out by ICOMOS, thanks to the support of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIPH) and in collaboration with the National Advisory Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (CCN) of the DRC.
