Submissions Co-ordinator ACT Representative Leah McKenzie has worked as a heritage practitioner for state government, universities and private companies on Australian and British projects in the Middle East and Australia. She holds a Master of Arts Honours in Archaeology from the University of Sydney and a Doctor of Philosophy in Archaeology from the University of Melbourne. Leah has worked on rescue excavations in Iraq, Jordan and Syria as well as undertaking research projects in Greece and Israel. In Australia she has worked in New South Wales and Victoria as an archaeology consultant. She has held positions as Senior Archaeologist, Manager Heritage Approvals and Manager Strategic Projects at Heritage Victoria. She is currently Manager, Heritage Policy and Strategy at Heritage Victoria. She is a member of a number of Australian, British and American archaeological associations and has served on the executive of Australia ICOMOS and Australasian Society of Historical Archaeology. She was the Victorian coordinator for the successful world heritage nomination for the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens and is now working its world heritage listing implementation. |
